Honors Thesis Funding

Bess H. Ward Thesis Award

Welcome to the FSU Honors Thesis Funding Application!

Thesis funding is awarded on a competitive basis during each Fall and Spring semester at FSU. Students must be actively working on their honors thesis in order to qualify for funding. Previous recipients of the Bess H. Ward Thesis Award are not eligible to apply a second time. Once applications are closed they are reviewed by the HITM Program. Winners will receive up to $750.00 to help cover the cost of their thesis project.

The awards can be used to cover expenses such as travel to perform research, books, basic supplies, or participant support for surveys. Any equipment or materials purchased with the award money become the property of the student, although the student may elect to donate the equipment to a department or college upon completion of the thesis.

Recipients of this award will be required to present their honors thesis project, whether in process or completed, at either the FSU Fall Research Day or the Spring Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Funding for this award is made possible by the Bess H. Ward Endowed Scholarship.
